What does it mean to be a dancer? Elegance? Beauty? Grace?

Look at the serene expressions on their faces.

The long limbs with just a shadow of muscle showing beneath pink tights.

The fingers falling gently off the line of the arm like the tops of trees swaying in the wind.

What about this part of dance?

What about the dancer's body underneath the costumes and portrayal of perfection?

What about the strength and stamina that must go in to being able to dance?

Dance is intended to mask the difficulty and pain. It is part of the pleasure of watching dance- seeing beauty portrayed effortlessly.

But part of this disguise leaves dancers underestimated.

As artists

As athletes

Dancers are both.
